Principal's Message

Welcome Pride Family!

It is my honor to serve as Highland’s principal for the 2022-2023 school year!  I started my career as a student teacher in Hamilton City Schools in 2009 in kindergarten at Ridgeway Elementary School.  In the classroom, I fell in love with the students and the incredible families that make up this outstanding community of Hamilton, Ohio.  After 7 years of teaching in the classroom, I assumed the role of Assistant Principal where I was able to work with kids across all grade levels and grew with our students, staff, and community.  Community and sense of purpose are what drives me each and every day, and I cannot wait to continue to grow with this dynamic community that makes up Highland Elementary School for another dynamic school year!

We at Highland continue to be devoted to providing your child with what we know will make them successful in their futures: a high-quality, rigorous educational curriculum; a focus on character education and collaborative skills; and an individualized approach to instruction and recognition that develops each child to his or her full potential.  Both Mrs. Lawson and I cannot wait to work with your students and our incredible staff this year as we build bridges to bright futures ahead.
