Highland's Instructional Committee met to explore strategies for eliciting student responses from ALL students. One strategy involves students responding in written form. Students can use response cards, white boards, post-it responses, and group vertical boards to demonstrate their understanding. Members of the Instructional Committee got to experience responding in written form by completing an Engage Application Problem collaboratively on vertical boards. Each member had their own color marker and had to contribute to solving the problem in some way. Members were then tasked with finding ways to integrate written responses in their curriculum lessons.
