JANET HARDEN
6th-grade students are learning about minerals and how to identify them through both digital and hands-on activities. In the pictures, students are using mineral kits to perform two important tests: the streak test and the hardness test. The streak test helps them identify the color of a mineral’s powder, while the hardness test shows how easily a mineral can be scratched. These activities help students understand key properties of minerals and how scientists use these tests for identification.
