Kindergarten students have been learning about the concepts of shortest and longest by comparing the lengths of various objects. To spread some holiday cheer, they created measurement trees by sorting strips of paper from longest to shortest. They have also been working hard to compare two objects at a time and sort them into shorter and longer columns. Using linking cubes, students have been counting and comparing the height of linking sticks, practicing 1:1 correspondence and identifying which sticks are shorter or longer.
